Ingredients:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) white or yellow cake mix
  • 2 pints vanilla ice cream
  • 2 pints chocolate or strawberry ice cream
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or crushed Oreos
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Line the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
  2. Press the prepared cake layer firmly into the bottom of the pan, ensuring it is completely cold.
  3. Spread half of the first ice cream flavor (vanilla) over the base, smoothing it with a spatula until flat.
  4. Sprinkle the chocolate chips or crushed cookies evenly over the vanilla layer.
  5. Top with the second ice cream flavor (chocolate), smoothing the top until it is level with the edges of the pan.
  6. Place the pan in the freezer for at least 2 hours.
  7. Beat the cold heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla on high until stiff peaks form.
  8. Spread the whipped topping over the frozen ice cream layer and freeze for another 2 hours before serving.
