Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 can (14 oz / 397g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 1/2 cups (310g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk, then stir in the vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold the ingredients together with a spatula until no more streaks of white flour remain.
  3. Cover the dough and place it in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and place them 2 inches apart on parchment-lined baking sheets.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the edges are light mahogany-brown but the centers remain soft.
