Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 can (14 oz / 397g) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 1/2 cups (310g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp (3g) baking soda
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk, then stir in the vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold the ingredients together with a spatula until no more streaks of white flour remain.
- Cover the dough and place it in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and place them 2 inches apart on parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until the edges are light mahogany-brown but the centers remain soft.
