Ingredients:
- 2 large apples (Gala, Fuji, or Honeycrisp)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Instructions:
- Wash and core the apples. Using a mandoline slicer, cut the apples into consistent 1/8-inch thick rounds.
- Lay the apple slices onto paper towels and pat them firmly to remove as much surface moisture as possible to ensure a crispy texture.
- Place the dried apple slices into a large mixing bowl. Add the lemon juice to prevent browning, then sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Gently toss the slices by hand until each piece is lightly and evenly coated with the spice mixture.
- Arrange the apple slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap significantly.
- Air fry at 300°F (150°C) for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are curled and the centers are no longer spongy. Allow to cool completely to reach maximum brittleness.
