Ingredients:

  • 2 large apples (Gala, Fuji, or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions:

  1. Wash and core the apples. Using a mandoline slicer, cut the apples into consistent 1/8-inch thick rounds.
  2. Lay the apple slices onto paper towels and pat them firmly to remove as much surface moisture as possible to ensure a crispy texture.
  3. Place the dried apple slices into a large mixing bowl. Add the lemon juice to prevent browning, then sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
  4. Gently toss the slices by hand until each piece is lightly and evenly coated with the spice mixture.
  5. Arrange the apple slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap significantly.
  6. Air fry at 300°F (150°C) for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are curled and the centers are no longer spongy. Allow to cool completely to reach maximum brittleness.
