Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (250g) creamy almond butter
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup (170g) dark chocolate chips (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) fine sea salt
  • 1 tsp (5g) flaky sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Line your 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a medium microwave-safe glass bowl, combine the almond butter and maple syrup. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  3. Add the dark chocolate chips and melted coconut oil to the warm almond butter mixture. Let it sit for 1 minute to allow the residual heat to soften the chocolate, then stir slowly until the mixture transforms into a deep, mahogany-colored cream.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and fine sea salt until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Immediately sprinkle the flaky sea salt evenly across the surface.
  7. Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until firm to the touch.
  8. Lift the parchment paper to remove the block and slice into 16 equal squares using a sharp knife.
