Ingredients:

  • 3.5 lb beef chuck roast
  • 2 tbsp coarse sea salt
  • 2 tbsp beef tallow
  • 0.5 cup beef bone broth

Instructions:

  1. Pat the beef roast completely dry with paper towels and generously rub the sea salt into all sides of the meat.
  2. Heat beef tallow in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the roast for 3-5 minutes per side until a deep mahogany-colored crust develops.
  3. Place the roast in the slow cooker and pour the beef bone broth around the sides of the meat.
  4. Set the slow cooker to LOW and cook for 8 hours.
  5. Remove the roast to a cutting board, shred with two forks, and pour the remaining pot juices back over the beef.
